People are never problems.
We recognize agency, lived experience, and the full humanity of every person.
Why we exist
Our beginning
Common Ground began with a simple observation: communities already hold insight, leadership, and imagination. Too often, what they lack is flexible support and a partner willing to listen.
Our role is to connect people, resources, and learning—then step back enough for local leaders to lead. This temporary template copy can be replaced with the organization’s verified history.
What guides us
Every partnership, grant, and program is shaped by four commitments that keep people—not process—at the center.
We recognize agency, lived experience, and the full humanity of every person.
We build mutual understanding before designing an answer.
We share what works, name what does not, and improve with honesty.
Progress becomes possible when imagination is paired with sustained action.
